TORC System

The TORC system is well recognised as utilising a swirling vortex, for gentle yet effective cleaning, comprising of a mixture of low air pressure, a little water and a safe inert powder/material.

'TORC' nozzles have a removable 'nose' section allowing a choice of 5, 7, 9,11 or 13mm apertures.

The swirling action is developed by a replacement 'stator' housed within the nozzle itself. The stator also generates a more exaggerated action, demanding less water to lubricate the swirling process. This has a number of benefits; a reported lower consumption of granulates to produce a given rate of work; the ability to work drier, or even dry if necessary whilst still maintaining the swirling action (although water always enhances efficiency and the natural appearance of the clean).

DOFF System 'SuperHeated Water'

The DOFF system is very different in action than other 'steam' or 'hot water' systems currently available and should not be confused with them, as it is actually 'superheated' water that exits the nozzle, not just hot (70-90°), or steam. The system uses a normal water supply, taken into the high pressure pump unit, where the pressure is increased to the required level before entering the Hotbox. The desired pressure can be variably adjusted by the operator and is independent of temperature settings. Within the heater unit, the temperature can be increased at anything up to 150°C if necessary, before it passes through a heat resistant nozzle, which is used to direct the super-heated water onto the surface to be cleaned.

Other stone cleaning services we offer include the following:

Clean-Film For cleaning internal surfaces with no use of water. A thin layer of 'film producing' cleaning paste, enables thorough cleansing of the surface, with no risk of leaving salts or other chemical residues within the capillaries. There are no chemical after effects to the substrate. Once the product has been applied (either by brush or by spray) and left for 24-48 hours on the surface, it becomes modified into a film. The film which has absorbed dirt, stains and pollution has rubber-like properties, that is easily and cleanly peeled off and disposed of.

Stone Repair A non-cementitious stone repair product, made from fine limestone granules. This product is supplied as a powder + liquid, pre-coloured to match your sample. Completely non-shrink. Can be placed or cast to full thickness in one application. Sets within 20 mins. Work (dress/carve) with normal tools, in 4-8 hours (depending on temperature). Provides an excellent match for most medium grained limestones and sandstones. Can also be matched to brick samples, for repairing damaged brick faces in situ, rather than full removal and replacement.

Stonehealth No.6 LV & HV Paint Softener Paint softener product. Typically for 'plasticized paints' eg. Sandtex types, acrylic emulsions etc. Free of chlorinated solvents, pH neutral, active components evaporate. LV (Low viscosity) - for thin coatings and ideal for spraying. HV (High viscosity) - for thick coatings on vertical surfaces. Will work through many layers of paints with single application, without causing substrate damage or salts. 12-24 hour dwell time.

Stonehealth No.7 or 7S Paint Softener Paint softener product. Typically for 'oil based' and polyurethane coatings, including household gloss, lacquers and varnish. No.7 - Contains lower percentage of active component - 'irritant' classification. 7S - Higher concentration - 'harmful' classification. Will work through many layers of paints with single application, without causing substrate damage or salts. Is supplied in either high or low viscosity for brush, roller or spray application. 12-24 hour dwell time. (7S for thick coating removal on vertical surfaces).

Prevosil Range A range of surface treatments that are all 'true breathing' products, unlike other products that only claim to have breathable properties. Different versions of the product protect either internal or external surfaces, including products for protecting floors against specific stains, such as wine, ink etc. Following analysis of stone samples, formulations can be prepared to meet the requirements of each product. (Versions: Alcohol/White spirit, Water based, Damp look, Wet look). Semi-permanent surface impregnator, for protecting surfaces. Applied product is waterproof, yet vapour permeable, to prevent substrate damage.

CupRidReady to use poultice product for removing copper stains from porous surfaces, easily applied and removed, with results within 24 hours. Extensive staining may require subsequent application.

FerRidReady to use poultice product for removing ferrous (iron) stains from porous surfaces, easily applied and removed, with results within 24 hours. Extensive staining may require subsequent application.

B-WaxReady to use sacrificial 'micro-wax' product. A biological biodegradable, semi-permanent anti-graffiti coating, to protect surfaces from graffiti and pollutants. Vapour permeable and once dry, of minimal visual change. After hardening is very resistant to a variety of inks, paints and graffiti which can easily be removed by using hot water. Re-application of the product is then advised to protect against further attack.

G-Wax'Micro-wax' product supplied as a concentrate. Usually diluted with water (1:1, 1:2) for porous substrates. Applied neat for non-porous eg. glazed tile. A biological, biodegradable, semi-permanent anti-graffiti coating, based on wax, to protect surfaces from graffiti and pollutants. Vapour permeable and once dry of minimal visual change. After hardening is very resistant to a variety of inks, paints and graffiti which can easily be removed by using hot water. Re-application of the product is then advised to protect against further attack.
