Carlisle Cathedral

Carlisle Cathedral was originally founded in 1122 originally as a priory church which was made into a Cathedral and has been rebuilt a few times due to fire and partial demolishment.

Askins & Little were commissioned to carefully remove the “four saints” from their positions on the cathedral façade for future restoration and reinstatement. Sections of the tracery to the east window were replaced, along with numerous hand carved stone units. Areas of the masonry were also re-pointed in traditional lime mortar
